Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE 

Cipriani is seeking a polished, hospitality driven Server to deliver an exceptional and highly personalized dining experience to our guests. This individual will embody the Cipriani standard of Culture, Authenticity , Simplicity, and Elegance, providing attentive, intuitive service while guiding guests through the menu with confidence and  expertise.  

The Server plays a critical role in ensuring seamless service execution, anticipating guest needs, and maintaining the elevated atmosphere synonymous with Casa Cipriani.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES 

• Greet guests warmly and professionally, escorting and seating them with poise and attention to detail  

• Present menus and confidently describe dishes, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials  

• Provide thoughtful wine and beverage recommendations, including pairing suggestions to enhance the guest experience  

• Execute full fine-dining service sequence, including proper coursing, clearing, resetting, and crumb service  

• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system in a timely manner  

• Ensure all orders, including modifications and dietary restrictions, are clearly communicated to the kitchen and bar  

• Serve food and beverages with precision, maintaining proper service etiquette and timing  

• Maintain constant awareness of table progress and pacing to ensure a seamless and synchronized dining experience  

• Anticipate guest needs proactively, including refilling water, adjusting table settings, and responding to cues without prompting  

• Maintain impeccably set tables, replacing linens, flatware, and glassware as needed throughout service  

• Present and process guest checks accurately and discreetly, handling all forms of payment in accordance with company standards  

• Provide elevated, discreet service to guests and members, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality  

• Collaborate closely with captains, back servers, runners, and kitchen staff to ensure a cohesive service flow  

• Support team members during peak service periods to maintain overall dining room standards  

• Participate in pre-shift meetings and remain informed on menu updates, specials, and service notes  

• Proactively drive revenue through strategic upselling of premium menu items, wines, and specials  

• Uphold Cipriani’s brand standards through polished appearance, refined communication, and exceptional service execution at all times  

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

• Previous experience as a Server in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment required  

• Strong knowledge of fine dining service procedures and etiquette  

• Solid understanding of wine, spirits, and beverage service (WSET certification or equivalent a plus)  

• Experience with POS systems such as MICROS, Toast, or similar platforms preferred  

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a polished and professional demeanor  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering precise, high-level service  

• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment  

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate guest needs and provide proactive, personalized service  

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required  

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION 

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6–8+ hours per shift)  

• Ability to lift and carry trays, plates, and service equipment up to 25-50 lbs  

• Maneuver efficiently through a crowded dining room while maintaining composure and professionalism  

• Transport food and beverage items safely and accurately from kitchen and bar to guest tables  

• Clear and effective verbal communication with guests and team members  

• Maintain a polished appearance and adhere to grooming and uniform standards at all times
