Job Description
This is an opportunity to join the R&D team and provide hands-on support in developing an emerging consumer electronics category: next-generation smart-glasses prototypes. The position is critical for bridging the gap between product concepts and physical reality.
As a Research Technician, you will be responsible for high-precision assembly, prototyping, and executing rigorous performance validation for new glasses frames and lenses. You will conduct mechanical, thermal, and optical testing, meticulously documenting results to ensure hardware meets demanding standards for the electronics and ophthalmic industries. The role is a 9-5, Monday through Friday position and is a possible temp-to-hire opportunity.
salary: $20 - $30 per hour

Responsibilities
- Project Focus: Support the development of next-generation AI smart-glasses prototypes in partnership with Google.
- Core Tasks: Execute high-precision assembly and prototyping for AI glasses frames and lenses.
- Testing & Validation: Perform rigorous mechanical, thermal, and optical testing, ensuring hardware meets demanding industry standards.
- Documentation: Meticulously document results using Google Sheets/Docs to provide actionable feedback for improving design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Lab Oversight: Operate and maintain lab equipment, manage component inventory, and oversee new testing processes.
