Schedule: Full-time - Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Salary Range: $75,800.00 to $ 90,000.00/ year(depending on experience)
Work Arrangement: In-Office

Job Summary:
The Recruiter is responsible for identifying, engaging, and onboarding prospective members and/or staff in alignment with UDW’s mission and organizing goals. This role combines full-cycle recruitment responsibilities with active field outreach and organizing support. The position requires frequent regional travel, participation in community events and rallies, and collaboration with organizing leadership to strengthen membership growth and workforce recruitment efforts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Hiring Functions

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Conduct structured interviews to assess candidate qualifications and organizational fit
  • Perform reference checks and employment verifications.
  • Initiate and coordinate background checks in compliance with applicable laws and internal policies. 
  • Communicate hiring decisions and manage candidate follow-up throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Maintain confidential recruitment records and applicant tracking documentation.
  • Track and report recruitment metrics and pipeline activity.

  • Onboard new hires and offboard employee separations 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives

Outreach & Organizing Support

  • Conduct outreach efforts including phone banking, field visits, digital engagement, and community canvassing.
  • Travel throughout the assigned region to recruit prospective employees.
  • Represent UDW at rallies, community events, job fairs, and college career fairs. 
  • Develop relationships with colleges, universities, workforce development programs, and community organizations to build recruitment pipelines. 
  • Assist in planning and executing recruitment events and informational sessions. 
  • Collaborate with organizing staff to support campaigns and membership growth strategies.
  • Meet established recruitment and outreach goals. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Public Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2+ years of recruiting, organizing, community outreach, or related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of labor unions, organizing principals, and collective bargaining processes preferred. 
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the region
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, Asana, Excel, Paylocity, and database systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. 
  • Train UDW staff and volunteers on data entry protocols and best practices.
