Aircraft Mechanic III (E-6B/707 Program)
Northrop Grumman | Lake Charles, LA

Performed depot-level maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and overhaul of Boeing 707/E-6B aircraft supporting military aviation operations. Executed scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, military technical orders, OEM manuals, and quality assurance standards to maintain aircraft mission readiness.

• Performed troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and functional testing of aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical components.
• Conducted 100-hour, phase, periodic, calendar-based, pre-flight, post-flight, and through-flight inspections.
• Maintained and repaired aircraft systems including flight controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, landing gear, engine, and mechanical systems.
• Diagnosed aircraft discrepancies using technical manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and maintenance publications.
• Installed, modified, repaired, and routed aircraft wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical assemblies.
• Executed aircraft structural modifications, sheet metal fabrication, corrosion control, and airframe repairs.
• Removed, installed, rigged, adjusted, and operationally tested aircraft components to verify serviceability.
• Performed engine inspections, servicing, and troubleshooting to identify leaks, wear, corrosion, cracks, and foreign object damage (FOD).
• Utilized precision measuring instruments including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, cable tensiometers, multimeters, and specialized aircraft test equipment.
• Documented maintenance actions, inspections, discrepancies, and corrective actions in aircraft maintenance logs and electronic record systems.
• Interpreted engineering change orders (ECOs), service bulletins, technical directives, and manufacturer specifications.
• Ensured compliance with OSHA regulations, aircraft safety procedures, quality standards, tool control, and FOD prevention programs.
• Collaborated with engineering and maintenance teams to complete aircraft modification and sustainment projects.
• Mentored junior aircraft mechanics and provided technical guidance to ensure quality workmanship and regulatory compliance.
• Supported mission readiness by completing maintenance activities within established production schedules.
